The second canticle for the dedication of a church is from Isaiah 2:2-3.
Canticum Isaiae
Et erit in novíssimis
diebus: præparátus mons domus Dómini *in vértice móntium,
|
And in the last days the
mountain of the house of the Lord shall be prepared on the top of mountains,
|
Et elevábitur super colles;
* et fluent ad eum omnes gentes.
|
And it shall be exalted
above the hills, and all nations shall flow unto it.
|
Et ibunt pópuli multi, et
dicent: * Veníte, et ascendámus ad montem Dómini, et ad domum Dei Iacob;
|
And many people shall go,
and say: Come and let us go up to the mountain of the Lord, and to the house
of the God of Jacob,
|
Et docóbit nos vias suas, *
et ambulábimus in sémitis eius:
|
And he will teach us his
ways, and we will walk in his paths:
|
Quia de Sion exíbit lex, * et
verbum Dómini de Ierúsalem.
|
For the law shall come
forth from Sion, and the word of the Lord from Jerusalem.
|
Glória Patri, et Fílio, * et Spirítui
Sancto.
|
Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, *
and to the Holy Ghost.
|
Sicut erat in princípio, et nunc, et semper,
* et in sǽcula sæculórum. Amen.
|
As it was in the beginning, is now, * and
ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
